ATRI unveils 2015 Top 10 list of trucking industry concerns: Hours, CSA again top list

The American Transportation Research Institute has released  its Critical Issues in the Trucking Industry – 2015, the organization’s ATRI-2015-Top-Industry-Issues-FINAL-10-2015-web-232x300_editedannual ranking of the top 10 concerns in the trucking industry. Respondents included industry stakeholders, carriers and commercial drivers. The ranking of issues is as follows:

1.       Hours-of-Service: 3rd year in a row that the HOS rules have been ranked as the top issue
2.       Compliance Safety Accountability (CSA)
3.       Driver Shortage: In a new report from the ATA, the current driver shortage is now estimated to be 48,000, projected to increase to 175,000 by 2024.
4.       Driver Retention
5.       Truck Parking
6.       Electronic Logging Device Mandate
7.       Driver Health/Wellness
8.       Economy
9.       Transportation/Infrastructure/Congestion/Funding
10.      Driver distraction
