NJ Authorities Crackdown on Big Rigs

Responding to several high-profile truck crashes and fatalities, state, county and Port Authority police are issuing significantly more big-rigsatraffic tickets to commercial drivers this year – crackdowns that New Jersey’s leading trucking industry group considers misplaced.

In Bergen County, police in the newly reorganized traffic bureau of the Sheriff’s Department issued more than 8,000 tickets to commercial drivers in the first six months – 38% more than the year before.
